Introduction |
| |
| |
The practice of medicine is about treating the whole person, not just the symptoms. This philosophy is not new to UPMC McKeesport and its Osteopathic Residencies.
At UPMC McKeesport, we currently have 3 AOA approved Osteopathic Programs:
1. Family Medicine Residency Program, Dually Accredited (AOA & ACGME)
2. Internal Medicine Residency Program, NEW! Dually Accredited (AOA & ACGME)
3. Traditional Rotating Osteopathic Internship*
*Candidates will automatically placed in the Traditional Osteopathic Rotating Internship for OGME-1 year if they match into our dually accredited Family Medicine Residency or our dually accredited Internal Medicine Residency. Our internship also has an affiliation with UPMC Mercy's Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R) Residency, providing their PGY-1 year for some DO residents.
In addition to the AOA internship, the AOA accredited Family Medicine & Internal Medicine Residencies will lead eligible candidates to be certified by the AOA, the American Osteopathic Board of Family Physcians (AOBFP) and the American Board of Family Medicine (ABFM) or the American Osteopathic Board of Internal Medicine (AOBIM) and the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM), respectively . |
