Third Year Resident

Pittsburgh, PA

I was born in Guyana, a small country at the tip of South America, but spent most of my days growing up in Silver Spring, MD. As I child, I enjoyed sports and even participated in college. I enjoy basketball and weight lifting but admittedly have spent less time doing either since starting residency. I did my undergraduate studies at University of Maryland, Baltimore County before studying medicine abroad at UMHS-St. Kitts. I also finished an MPH while in medical school which ultimately allowed to spend some time learning about HIV in our nation's capital. I am currently on the HIV track here at UPMC and hope to incorporate HIV care into my every day practice. When I am able to get time off, I enjoy travelling as much as possible. Recently, I have been to Antigua and the Dominican Republic and I hope to travel to Barbados or Colombia during my next vacation. One day, I hope to repay my family for all of the sacrifices they have made to get me to this point. I am still working on that... I am Forever Indebted (literally)!
