The UPMC McKeesport Family Medicine Residency strives to train compassionate, dedicated, cost-conscious physicians who promote and support the ideals of family medicine and recognize their leadership role in effective health care delivery. UPMC McKeesport is recognized as a major provider not only of quality medical care but also of exceptional educational opportunities for residents and medical students. The residency allows the residents to become actively involved in providing a multitude of services to the community. The residency not only provides a friendly, stable, nurturing environment conducive to personal growth, but also establishes a strong framework for the practice of medicine. We don't just produce good doctors, we also strive to produce dedicated, well-rounded individuals who are sensitive to their patients, families, and community.
MISSION STATEMENT
The Mission of the UPMC McKeesport Family Medicine Residency Program is to train exceptional residents to become Family Physicians who are able to serve the people of their communities, whether rural, suburban or urban. Our physicians provide quality care to patients in the outpatient and inpatient settings, regardless of age, gender, ethnicity or illness. Patient care and resident education are equal partners in the mission of the residency.
