Sadiq Hassan was raised in London England and moved to Toronto, Canada in 7th grade. He completed his undergraduate education in Finance at New York University in New York City and then stayed in the city for medical school at Albert Einstein College of Medicine of Yeshiva University. After medical school, he came to Pittsburgh to complete his training in Family Medicine and Psychiatry at UPMC St Margaret and UPMC Western Psychiatric Hospital where he served as Chief Resident.
Upon graduation, he stayed at UPMC as residency faculty and joined UPMC McKeesport as a behavioral health faculty member in January 2022. He also works as a psychiatrist at the Somerset State Correctional Institution in Somerset, PA. His interests include integrated behavioral health, implementing the collaborative care model, resident teaching, addiction medicine, and correctional healthcare.
Outside of medicine, Dr. Hassan enjoys exploring Pittsburgh’s many parks and green spaces, drinking Starbucks, traveling, and trying new foods with his wife, Zahra.
