Yaqin Xia, MD, is a family medicine physician and certified in family medicine by the American Board of Family Medicine. She is assistant professor of medicine at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine and serves as medical director for the University of Pittsburgh Department of Family Medicine in Squirrel Hill, Pa.
Dr. Xia received her medical degree from Sun Yat-Sent University, completed her residency at Forbes Regional Hospital, and her Master of Health Professional Education from the University of Illinois.
Dr. Xia’s clinical interests include providing a full spectrum of medical services to all age groups, from newborn and children to adults and the geriatric population, and female as well as male, in the context of family and community. She performs office procedures including skin biopsy, office gynecological and contraception procedures, and joint injections.
Dr. Xia is enthusiastic about providing clinical teaching to medical students and residents. She is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians and Society of Teachers of Family Medicine.
